Michael
I’ve taught IB MYP Mathematics for nine years, both in school and through private online lessons. Algebra and functions are probably my favourite areas to teach, especially when a student needs a different way of seeing a problem. I use plenty of worked questions in lessons, but I also ask students to explain their reasoning rather than simply copy a method. I regularly help with assessments and end-of-year revision.

Anna
Hi, I’m an English tutor with six years of experience working with IB MYP students. Most of my lessons involve reading together, picking apart passages and then turning those ideas into stronger written responses. I particularly enjoy teaching literary analysis because there’s rarely just one sensible interpretation. I also help students who have good ideas but find it difficult to organise them clearly on the page.

Victoria
I teach IB MYP Biology and have spent more than a decade working with secondary students. My background is in biological sciences, so I particularly enjoy genetics, cell biology and human physiology. Lessons usually combine diagrams, short questions and discussion rather than long explanations from me. For assessments, I spend time showing students how to use scientific vocabulary accurately without making answers unnecessarily complicated.

Benjamin
Chemistry can feel like a collection of unrelated rules at first, and that’s usually where I come in. I’ve been tutoring IB MYP Chemistry for five years and tend to work with students who want concepts explained from the beginning. Atomic structure and chemical reactions are topics I never get bored of teaching. I draw quite a lot during online lessons and use simple examples before moving onto proper assessment questions.

Nathan
I’m a former classroom Physics teacher and now tutor IB MYP Physics online. I’ve worked with secondary pupils for 14 years, including students who find calculations much easier than written explanations and vice versa. Forces and electricity are my favourite units because there are plenty of everyday examples to work with. I’m quite methodical in lessons and like students to show every stage of their thinking.

Jennifer
My background is in history and museum education, and I’ve tutored IB MYP Individuals and Societies for seven years. I enjoy working on source analysis most, particularly helping students spot what a source can genuinely tell us rather than making broad claims. Lessons are conversational, with plenty of questions from both sides. I also spend time on essay planning because a clear argument usually solves half the problems in a history response.

Ashlee
I’ve taught IB MYP Chemistry in international schools for twelve years and still enjoy the moment when students start linking topics together instead of treating each unit separately. Stoichiometry and acids are my usual favourites. My lessons are fairly structured: a quick recap, one new idea, then questions of increasing difficulty. I also check working carefully, as small errors with units or equations often hide a bigger misunderstanding.

Leah
I’m a Physics tutor with a background in engineering and around five years of IB MYP teaching experience. I particularly enjoy mechanics because it gives us plenty of everyday examples, from bicycles to lifts and sports. I tend to sketch situations before introducing equations, which helps students see what the numbers represent. Near assessment time, we switch to mixed questions so they have to decide for themselves which ideas apply.
